Heather Walker, LPC
As a therapist, I strive to collaborate with my clients to create an environment that offers the support and safety necessary to explore life’s complexity. It is my belief that in order to meaningfully move through the obstacles that life throws at us, we first must understand our selves and how we got here.
I work with couples and individuals aged 14 and over dealing with a wide variety a challenges including anxiety, depression, eating disorders, identity issues, difficult transitions, self esteem, relationship issues, self harm and substance abuse.
I approach sessions from a primarily psychodynamic perspective while also utilizing aspects from a variety of approaches including emotionally focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. My work is also informed from my time working in community mental health and institutionalized settings.
Let’s see how we can work together to navigate life’s challenges.
