Kurt Kumler, Ph.D.
I offer psychotherapy for couples and individuals from adolescents to older adults. I also provide consultation and clinical supervision to professionals in the field. I received my M.A. in Clinical Psychology at Seattle University and my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Duquesne University. I have been practicing psychotherapy for 25 years at university counseling centers, mental health agencies and in private practice. In addition to direct clinical service, I have served as Director of Counseling and Psychological Services at Carnegie Mellon University and Director of Point Park University’s Counseling Center with a dual faculty appointment in the clinical doctoral program.
I believe psychological healing is made possible from the restorative relationship between a client and therapist. My work is grounded in relational, existential, and psychodynamic theories and informed by contemporary understandings of the complex interplay between our culture, our biology, our relationships, and our experiences.
